NHS Payroll & Pensions Specialist
UK-wide | Remote Working
Salary dependent on experience

Do you have specialist experience in NHS payroll and pensions? We'd love to hear from you!

We're looking to connect with an experienced payroll professional who understands the intricacies of NHS payroll and pension administration, for an opportunity with one of our clients, one of the UK's leading accountancy and business advisory firms.

This is an opportunity for someone with a background in NHS payroll processing, payroll administration or pensions to bring their specialist knowledge into a professional, client-focused environment, supporting the delivery of accurate and compliant payroll services.

With remote working available, we're keen to hear from talented individuals across the UK who have the right experience, whether you're an established payroll specialist or an experienced administrator with a strong NHS payroll and pensions background.

What will you be doing?

Depending on your experience and the requirements of the role, responsibilities may include:
  • Supporting the accurate and timely processing of NHS payrolls, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
  • Administering and maintaining payroll records, ensuring employee information is accurate and up to date.
  • Applying knowledge of NHS pension arrangements, contributions and associated payroll deductions.
  • Processing payroll changes, checking calculations and investigating discrepancies.
  • Responding to payroll and pension queries, providing clear and professional support to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensuring payroll data is handled confidentially and in line with relevant procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting payroll reporting, reconciliations and general payroll administration.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant payroll legislation, NHS-specific requirements and changes to pension processes.
What are we looking for?

We're particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
  • Previous experience working with NHS payroll and pensions.
  • A sound understanding of NHS-specific payroll processes and pension arrangements.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to payroll accuracy.
  • The ability to investigate queries, identify discrepancies and resolve issues methodically.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Confident communication skills and a professional approach to handling sensitive information.
  • Competence using payroll systems and Microsoft Office.
Experience within a payroll bureau, shared services environment or a role supporting multiple payrolls would also be beneficial.

Why consider this opportunity?
  • Remote working: flexibility to be based anywhere in the UK.
  • Specialist experience valued: an opportunity to utilise your knowledge of NHS payroll and pensions.
  • Professional environment: the chance to work with an established accountancy and business advisory firm.
  • A role tailored to your experience: we're interested in hearing from both payroll specialists and experienced payroll administrators.
