Are you an enthusiastic SEN professional who loves helping children overcome barriers, discover their strengths and celebrate every little win? Do you have the patience, creativity and commitment to help a pupil feel confident, included and ready to learn?

Academics are looking for a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant in Redbridge to support a Year 6 pupil with global developmental delay on a 1:1 basis. Starting on 2 November 2026, this full-time opportunity runs until July 2027, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

You'll be joining a primary school with a strong reputation for educational standards and pupil development. Its latest Ofsted inspection recognised outstanding practice across several key areas, including the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. It's an exciting opportunity to become part of a school community that values achievement, inclusion and helping children reach their potential.

What will your role involve?

  • Providing consistent 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil with global developmental delay
  • Adapting learning activities to suit the pupil's individual needs and abilities
  • Encouraging communication, participation and independence
  • Helping the pupil access lessons and take part in everyday classroom routines
  • Supporting social interaction, confidence and emotional wellbeing
  • Celebrating progress and recognising achievements, big and small
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
  • Helping create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment

Who are we looking for?

Previous SEN experience is desirable, particularly supporting children with developmental delays or additional learning needs.

You'll be patient, observant and adaptable, with a genuine passion for helping children develop at their own pace. A calm, encouraging approach and the ability to build trusting relationships will be essential.

Why apply?

  • £93-£120 per day, depending on experience
  • Start date of 2 November 2026
  • Full-time contract until July 2027
  • Potential to move into a permanent position
  • Excellent public transport links for an easier commute
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference during a pupil's final year of primary school
