Tax Accountant

Salary: Up to £40,000 | Leicester City Centre | Hybrid Working (2 days per week in the office)

Robert Half is partnering with a well-established business to recruit a Tax Accountant to join its finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on tax professional who enjoys getting into the detail, taking ownership of tax processes and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

The focus is very much on doing, preparing and delivering, rather than simply reviewing work completed by others.

The Role

Working as part of the wider finance function, you will take responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of key tax records and reporting, including:

• Preparing commercial tax returns and supporting tax computations.

• Completing tax reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies.

• Supporting tax accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting.

• Maintaining tax schedules and supporting documentation.

• Assisting with tax reporting requirements and ensuring deadlines are met.

• Working closely with colleagues across finance to ensure tax information is accurate and up to date.

• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and the accuracy of tax reporting.

About You

We are looking for someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and taking a practical approach to tax accounting.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a tax accounting or tax-focused finance role.

• Experience preparing commercial tax returns and tax reconciliations.

• A good understanding of tax accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to deadlines.

• A proactive, hands-on approach, with the confidence to take ownership of your workload.

• Relevant accountancy or tax qualifications, or be actively studying towards them.

• Salary up to £40,000, depending on experience.
