Location: Liverpool

Salary: £27,000–£30,000, depending on experience

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Working pattern: Hybrid, with three days in the office and two days working from home

Beam Recruit is working with a growing payroll bureau to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer

This is a varied, hands-on role where you will manage multiple payrolls for a portfolio of clients, ensuring they are processed accurately, compliantly and on time. Experience working for a payroll bureau would be ideal, particularly if you’ve handled multiple payrolls across weekly, fortnightly and monthly pay cycles.

The role

• Process payrolls for a portfolio of clients from start to finish
• Process starters, leavers, tax code changes and other payroll updates
• Complete statutory submissions and reporting on time
• Support auto-enrolment and pension administration
• Register PAYE schemes with HMRC
• Respond to client payroll queries
• Maintain accurate payroll records and keep up to date with legislation

About you

• At least three years’ payroll experience
• Ideally, experience in a payroll bureau or outsourced payroll environment
• Confident managing multiple payrolls, pay frequencies and deadlines
• Highly organised, accurate and comfortable working at pace
• A clear communicator who can provide a helpful service to clients
• Calm and practical when handling competing priorities
• A flexible team player with a positive approach
