Systems Engineer

- £85 per hour (£630 per day) Inside IR35
- 12 Month Contract (Extension Likely)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Systems Performance Modelling Engineer to join a major UK engineering and defence programme. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, mission-critical systems where modelling and simulation play a key role in shaping future capabilities.

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for developing, analysing and enhancing system performance models, supporting technical decision-making across the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain performance models using MATLAB and Simulink
• Conduct system-level modelling, simulation and analysis activities
• Analyse system behaviour and performance against customer requirements
• Support design reviews and provide evidence-based recommendations
• Work closely with systems, software and hardware engineering teams
• Produce technical reports and present findings to stakeholders
• Support verification, validation and acceptance activities
• Contribute to the development of modelling techniques and engineering best practice

Essential Experience

• Experience developing models using MATLAB and Simulink
• Background in systems engineering, modelling, simulation or performance analysis
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work within a highly regulated engineering environment
