Venn Group are searching for a Capital Analyst to join a well established finance team. This is a newly created role offering ownership of the end-to-end capital expenditure process, supporting significant investment projects and ensuring robust financial control across CAPEX accounting, governance and reporting.

Working closely with finance and operational stakeholders, you will play a key role in maintaining capital accounting accuracy, managing fixed assets, and providing meaningful insight into capital investment performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the Capital Expenditure Request (CER) process, ensuring appropriate approvals, governance and financial controls are maintained.
• Manage monthly capital accounting activities, including capitalisation, depreciation, journals, asset disposals and project close-outs.
• Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring assets are accurately recorded and accounted for.
• Produce monthly CAPEX reporting, forecasts and variance analysis for senior finance and leadership teams.
• Review work-in-progress projects and ensure completed projects are capitalised appropriately in line with accounting standards.
• Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on CAPEX versus OPEX classification and capitalisation principles.
• Monitor capital spend against approved budgets and support investment appraisal and business case processes where required.
• Drive continuous improvement across capital accounting processes, controls and governance frameworks.

Requirements:

• Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience with strong capital accounting exposure.
• Previous experience in CAPEX accounting, fixed asset management and financial reporting within a sizeable organisation.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge and influence where appropriate.
• Experience producing financial analysis and reports for senior management audiences.
• Advanced Excel skills, with Netsuite experience also an advantage
