THE COMPANY Radii Planet Group are specialists in the design, manufacture and installation of the highest-standard partitioning, certified glazed fire rated systems and stunning architectural glass solutions. JOB PURPOSE * To compile estimates on how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with the supply of products and services offered by the Company. * To calculate how much a project is likely to cost and create budgets accordingly. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Examine and analyse tender documentation in order to prepare time, cost, materials and labour estimates * Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops * Consult with clients, suppliers, personnel in internal departments and site personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues * Confer with relevant personnel on changes and adjustments to cost estimates * Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organising and scheduling work * Produce analytically priced Bill of Quantities * Prepare Preliminaries * Prepare estimates for use in selecting suppliers or subcontractors * Review material and labour requirements to decide whether it is more cost effective to produce or purchase components * Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals throughout the duration of the project * Conduct relevant reviews to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction * Establish and maintain the tendering process and conduct negotiations * Ensure effective handover of tender to construction team * Maintain knowledge of current market trends, practices and products * Ensure all sensitive and confidential information is held and communicated in accordance with the Data Protection Act * Complete all administration tasks in a timely, accurate and legible manner * Work without supervision * Demonstrate a commitment to own personal development within the role QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE * Degree in Commercial Management or equivalent * Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Project and Word, and the sue of Conquest Estimating Software would be advantageous * Experience of Estimating in Construction Management / or the ability to quickly learn and understand the role of Estimator * Experience of managing budgets and plans * The ability to read and understand technical drawings and understand technical drawings and architect’s plans and interpret their content and technical specification DI&SV Statement Diversity drives innovation and accelerates businesses and enterprises towards their missions.
