Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert day-to-day HR guidance to managers and employees.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor, delivering commercially focused and pragmatic HR solutions.
  • Coaching and supporting managers through a wide range of employee relations matters, including:
    • Performance management and capability
    • Absence management
    • Disciplinary and grievance procedures
    • Workplace investigations
    • Occupational health referrals
    • HR-related health and safety matters
  • Supporting managers with risk assessments and employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Building strong working relationships across multiple branches and sites.
  • Providing HR support both remotely and in person.
  • Supporting recruitment and onboarding activities to attract and retain great talent.
  • Assisting with apprenticeship programmes and employee development initiatives.
  • Managing employee transfers and organisational changes.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Producing HR reports, analysing people data and supporting business decision-making through effective use of Excel.
  • Promoting best practice HR processes and contributing to continuous improvement across the wider business.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an approachable, confident and solutions-focused HR professional who enjoys working closely with people and making a tangible difference.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor, HR Generalist or similar HR role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience advising, influencing and coaching managers on employee relations matters.
  • A proven track record of handling investigations, disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance cases.
  • Experience supporting absence management and occupational health processes.
  • Knowledge of health and safety-related HR matters and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The confidence to challenge constructively and influence decision-making where required.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • A practical, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider team.

Experience working within a multi-site, branch-based or operational environment would be highly advantageous.
