Lead Dental Nurse / Head Nurse – Oakmead Dental Practice

East Grinstead, West Sussex | Permanent | Part-Time | 27.75 Hours per Week | Up to £16.00 per Hour

Ready to take the lead? We'll fund your sedation training!

Your next career move could come with a specialist qualification – and we'll help you pay for it!

Are you an ambitious Dental Nurse ready to step up into a Head Nurse / Lead Dental Nurse role? Or are you already sedation trained and looking for somewhere to put your specialist skills to great use?

At Oakmead Dental Practice, we're offering more than just another job. For the right candidate, we'll fully fund a recognised sedation nursing qualification, giving you the opportunity to develop specialist skills, grow in confidence and take your career to the next level – without having to fund the course yourself.

Already sedation qualified? Even better! We'd love to hear from you, too.

You'll join our friendly, close-knit team in East Grinstead, combining hands-on clinical nursing with leadership responsibilities and the chance to make a real difference to patients and colleagues.

If you're ready for more responsibility, more development and a practice that's prepared to invest in your future, we'd love to meet you!

Why You'll Love This Opportunity
  • Up to £16.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Fully funded sedation training for the right candidate.
  • A genuine opportunity to develop as a Head Nurse and support the wider nursing team.
  • The chance to use your existing sedation qualification or gain this valuable specialist skill.
  • A friendly, supportive team where your contribution matters.
  • Contributory pension scheme, paid birthday leave, employee referral scheme and uniform provided.

You don't need to be sedation qualified already. If you're an experienced, GDC-registered Dental Nurse with the enthusiasm to learn, we'll consider candidates who are keen to undertake the training.

What Will You Be Doing?

As our Head Nurse / Lead Dental Nurse, you'll play an important role in supporting our clinicians, guiding colleagues and helping the practice run smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing chairside assistance across a range of dental treatments.
  • Preparing surgeries, instruments and equipment.
  • Supporting sedation procedures in line with your training and competence.
  • Reassuring patients and delivering compassionate care.
  • Supporting and guiding the nursing team.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records.
  • Upholding decontamination, infection prevention and control standards.
  • Promoting clinical compliance and best practice.
Your Working Week

This is a permanent, part-time position offering 27.75 hours per week:

  • Monday: 8:00am–5:30pm (one-hour unpaid break).
  • Tuesday: 8:00am–5:30pm (one-hour unpaid break).
  • Wednesday: 8:00am–5:30pm (one-hour unpaid break).
  • Saturday: 8:30am–1:00pm on alternate weeks.
