P4 Recruitment is working in partnership with an established children's residential care provider to recruit an experienced Registered Manager for a 5-bedroom residential home in the Burnley area.

This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead within a specialist children's home supporting young people aged 8–18 with complex needs and learning difficulties.

The service aims to provide a safe, nurturing and family-style environment where young people feel valued, understood and supported to develop their confidence, independence and life skills.

You will have the opportunity to shape the culture of the home, develop a dedicated team and ensure every young person receives the individualised care and support they need to achieve positive outcomes.

About the Home

The home is a 5-bedroom, mixed-gender residential setting supporting children and young people with a range of complex needs, including learning difficulties and associated emotional and behavioural needs.

The focus is on providing consistent, high-quality care within a warm and supportive environment.

Working alongside a skilled team, you will ensure each young person receives personalised support that recognises their individual needs, promotes their wellbeing and helps them work towards their future aspirations.

The Role & Responsibilities

As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management and development of the home, ensuring it operates safely, effectively and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

About You

We are looking for an established Children's Residential professional with the leadership experience, knowledge and passion to manage a specialist service.

You will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience within children's residential care.
  • At least 1 year's management or supervisory experience within the last 5 years.
  • A Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children's Residential Care / Children's Workforce – essential.
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare – preferred. If not already achieved, you must be willing to enrol within six months of starting.
  • A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Quality Standards, SCCIF and relevant childcare legislation.
  • Experience leading, managing and developing residential care teams.
  • Knowledge and understanding of children with complex needs, learning difficulties and emotional, behavioural and social difficulties.
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive outcomes through individualised support.
  • Strong organisational, communication and report-writing skills.
  • Commercial awareness, including budget management, staffing and resource allocation.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Above all, you will be passionate about providing children and young people with the stability, encouragement and opportunities they need to thrive.

What's On Offer?

The provider offers an attractive management package, including:

  • Salary up to £50,000, depending on experience.
  • £5,000 welcome bonus following successful Fit Person Interview.
  • Up to £5,000 annual quality and commercial bonus.
  • Management Incentive Plan, providing an opportunity to share in the long-term success of the business.
  • Management Development Training Programme.
  • Access to an in-house Leadership Academy.
  • Ongoing leadership development and professional training.
  • Competitive company pension scheme.
  • Employee Assistance Service.
  • Wellbeing Programme.
  • Recommend a Friend scheme.
  • Team Rewards, including discounts on restaurants and family days out.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a specialist children's residential service, supported by an established organisation with over 20 years of experience in providing residential care across the North West.

You will have the scope to influence the quality of care, develop a strong and consistent staff team and create an environment where young people are supported to achieve their full potential.
