A growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Manager to join its growing tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified tax professional to take ownership of a varied client portfolio, build strong client relationships and play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of clients with minimal support from senior team members.
• Take responsibility for delivering compliance work efficiently, accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, developing strong and lasting relationships.
• Work closely with clients to understand their businesses and any changes affecting them.
• Keep clients informed of their compliance obligations and relevant legislative changes.
• Review tax returns and tax computations.
• Identify potential opportunities and provide commercially focused support to clients.
• Support the delivery of revenue and profitability targets.
• Ensure all work is delivered in line with internal risk management and quality procedures.
• Support and develop junior members of the team.

The ideal candidate will have:

• CTA, ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent qualification.
• Previous Corporate Tax or Mixed Tax experience gained within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage a varied client portfolio.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A commercial approach and the ability to understand clients' wider business needs.
• Experience working across a range of sectors would be advantageous.
• The confidence to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
