About the Role

We are an established education recruitment agency recruiting for passionate Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and SEND Teaching Assistants on behalf of the newly opened, state-of-the-art Academy. Located just outside Northampton this purposeful, all-through specialist school serves children aged 4 to 18.

The school supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). Working under a Total Communication Approach, you will be part of small, highly staffed classes where pupil wellbeing and building independence are at the heart of the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • 1:1 & Group Support: Provide dedicated support to pupils with ASD, SLD, and communication difficulties, helping them engage with sensory-friendly learning activities.
  • Communication & Independence: Implement visual schedules, PECS, or basic sign language in line with the school's Total Communication Approach to build key life and independence skills.
  • Regulation & Wellbeing: Aid children in emotional and sensory self-regulation using low-arousal strategies and tailored movement breaks.
  • Collaborative Working: Work closely alongside the Class Teacher, parent community, and external therapists (Speech & Language, OT) to meet target objectives outlined in pupils' EHCPs.

Requirements & Safer Recruitment

As an agency, we are strictly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates will undergo rigorous safer recruitment checks prior to any classroom placement.

  • Experience: Prior experience supporting individuals with autism (ASD), complex learning difficulties, or communication needs (school, care, or personal settings welcome).
  • Attributes: Exceptional patience, resilience, and a community-minded, empathetic approach to neurodiverse learning.
  • Compliance Checks: You must possess or be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service, provide a minimum of two professional references covering the last 2 years, and pass all standard right-to-work and barred list checks.

What We Offer

  • Competitive daily rates paid weekly via PAYE (no hidden umbrella fees).
  • The opportunity to work within a brand-new, modern, and purpose-built special education facility.
  • Continuous support from a dedicated education consultant.
