Quality Inspector

Up to £14.20 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an Assembly, Inspection & Rework Technician to join an established electronics manufacturing business based in Newbury.

This is a hands-on role within the inspection department, focusing on PCB inspection, modification, repair and rework. You will be working to high-quality standards and customer specifications within a busy production environment.

Quality Inspector Roles and Responsibilities:

• Carry out PCB rework, modification and repair to IPC standards
• Work with both SMT and through-hole components
• Assemble products using detailed work instructions and component lists
• Replace surface mount components and complete PCB modifications
• Carry out board-level repairs including track and pad repairs, wire linking and modifications
• Use soldering irons, hand tools and specialist PCB repair equipment
• Operate infrared BGA rework and reflow equipment
• Carry out X-ray inspection of PCBs
• Follow standard operating procedures and quality requirements
• Identify and report any defects, issues or safety concerns
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and to the required standard

Quality Inspector Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in PCB assembly, inspection or rework
• Good soldering and PCB rework skills
• Experience working with SMT, through-hole, BGA, QFN and chip components
• Knowledge of electronic components
• Experience using specialist rework or inspection equipment would be advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and good manual dexterity
• Experience working within an electronics manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of IPC standards
• IPC-7711, IPC-610 or IPC-620 training would be advantageous but is not essential
• The ability to follow detailed procedures and work to high-quality standards
• A reliable, punctual and hardworking approach
