Take the Next Step in Your Industrial Disease Career

Are you an experienced NIHL Fee Earner looking for your next career move?

We're working with a growing specialist law firm in Blackburn that is looking to expand its Industrial Disease team with an experienced fee earner who can confidently manage their own caseload of claimant industrial disease claims, with a particular focus on Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL).

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and supportive team where your experience will be valued, your expertise can continue to develop, and you'll have the autonomy to manage claims from initial instruction through to settlement or litigation.

If you're looking for a role that combines a varied caseload, genuine responsibility and long-term career development, this could be the ideal next step.

The Role

As an NIHL Fee Earner, you'll take ownership of a caseload of claimant industrial disease matters, managing both pre-litigated and litigated claims and ensuring each case progresses efficiently and strategically.

You'll play a key role in delivering positive outcomes for clients, applying your technical knowledge and litigation experience to progress claims effectively while maintaining the highest standards of client care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of claimant industrial disease claims, primarily focusing on NIHL matters.
  • Handling claims from initial instruction through to settlement, trial or other conclusion.
  • Taking ownership of pre-litigated and litigated files, including case strategy, procedural requirements and key deadlines.
  • Assessing liability and quantum through the review of medical, audiological, employment and witness evidence.
  • Drafting legal correspondence, pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss and court documentation.
  • Liaising with clients, defendants, insurers, medical experts, counsel and other relevant parties.
  • Negotiating settlements and working proactively to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and relevant Pre-Action Protocols.
  • Maintaining accurate case management records and keeping clients informed throughout the claims process.
  • Providing a consistently high standard of client service while progressing matters efficiently and effectively.

About You

We're looking for a confident and capable legal professional with proven experience handling claimant industrial disease claims and the ability to manage their own caseload with minimal supervision.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience handling claimant industrial disease claims, particularly Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL).
  • A strong understanding of industrial disease litigation and the relevant procedural requirements.
  • Proven experience managing litigated matters independently.
  • The ability to progress claims from inception through to settlement or conclusion.
  • Confidence reviewing medical and audiological evidence and assessing liability and quantum.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a growing specialist Industrial Disease team where you can build on your existing experience, take ownership of your work and continue developing your litigation expertise.

You can expect:

  • Competitive salary: £30,000-£35,000, depending on experience.
  • Monday to Friday working hours, offering a consistent working schedule.
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • A varied caseload of claimant industrial disease matters.
  • Genuine responsibility and autonomy in managing your own files.
  • Opportunities to strengthen your NIHL and litigation expertise.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.
  • Potential for long-term career progression within a growing specialist firm.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to clients while delivering high-quality legal work.
