P4 Recruitment is working in partnership with an established children's residential care provider to recruit an experienced Registered Manager for a 2-bedroom children's residential home in Salford.

The home currently supports one settled young person who is thriving, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader to build on the existing foundations, maintain high standards of care and develop a positive, stable and nurturing environment.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a service, lead and develop a dedicated team and ensure young people receive the individualised care, guidance and support they need to achieve positive outcomes.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the effective leadership, management and development of the home, ensuring it delivers outstanding care and achieves at least a Good Ofsted rating.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership & Team Development: Recruit, lead and develop a committed staff team, creating a positive culture where colleagues feel supported, motivated and equipped to deliver high-quality care.
  • Care Planning: Ensure every young person has comprehensive, individualised care plans that address their educational, emotional, social, cultural, therapeutic and health needs.
  • Quality & Compliance: Maintain high standards of care in line with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations and the Quality Standards.
  • Safeguarding: Promote a strong safeguarding culture, ensuring the safety and welfare of young people remain the priority at all times.
  • Staff Supervision: Oversee inductions, supervisions, performance management and ongoing professional development.
  • Partnership Working: Develop effective relationships with families, social workers, placing authorities, education providers and other professionals.
  • Young People's Development: Ensure young people are actively involved in decisions about their care, with opportunities to develop independence, confidence and life skills.
  • Service Management: Take responsibility for budgets, resources, occupancy, staffing and the overall operational performance of the home.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor service performance, address any concerns and drive improvements to ensure positive outcomes for young people.
About You

We are looking for a confident and motivated Children's Residential professional who has the experience, knowledge and leadership ability to take responsibility for a registered service.

You will ideally demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working within children's residential care.
  • At least 1 year's supervisory or management experience within the last 5 years.
  • A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent – essential.
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare – preferred. If not already achieved, you must be willing to enrol within six months of starting.
  • A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and the SCCIF inspection framework.
  • Experience managing, developing and motivating residential care teams.
  • A good understanding of trauma-informed care and supporting children with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, care planning and regulatory compliance.
  • Commercial awareness, including budget management, staffing and resource allocation.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Above all, you will be passionate about creating an environment where young people feel safe, valued and supported to reach their full potential.

What's On Offer?

The provider offers an attractive package, including:

  • Salary up to £50,000, depending on experience.
