National Planner
Rearsby, Leicester
Temporary | Hybrid – Office & Home
Salary: Competitive / DOE – to be confirmed

Macildowie are working with this client based in Rearsby, Leicester to recruit a Temporary National Planner into their growing New Build operation.

Operating within the renewable energy and energy-efficiency sector, this is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and proactive Planner to take responsibility for coordinating installation activity across a busy national operation.

You’ll be planning the deployment of installation teams across new-build developments, ensuring labour is being utilised effectively, customer commitments are met and potential capacity issues are identified before they become a problem.

This would suit someone with experience in planning, scheduling, resource coordination, installations, field service or logistics who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.

The Role

Working closely with Operations Managers and the wider Planning team, you will:

  • Plan and coordinate insulation and solar installation activity across new-build developments
  • Schedule installation teams to maximise operational efficiency and available labour
  • Agree planned installation runs with Operations Managers
  • Monitor labour capacity and identify restrictions, shortages and potential lead-time issues
  • Support the redeployment of labour across different projects where required
  • Contact customers and site representatives to confirm installations and arrange appointments
  • Manage scheduling enquiries through the central team inbox
  • Work closely with Commercial and Estimating teams to resolve production queries
  • Maintain effective communication between Planning, Operations, Customer Care and Commercial teams
  • Ensure queries and communications are dealt with within agreed service levels
  • Support the resolution of customer care issues professionally and efficiently

What Are We Looking For?

You’ll need to be someone who enjoys keeping multiple moving parts under control.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with:

  • Previous planning, scheduling, coordination or resource-planning experience
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines
  • Confident communication skills, both internally and with customers
  • Experience using planning or scheduling systems
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills
  • A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
  • The ability to work collaboratively across several departments

Experience within construction, housebuilding, renewables, utilities, field service, installations or a similar operational environment would be advantageous, although sector experience isn't essential if you have strong planning skills.

Why Apply?

This is a genuinely varied planning position where you'll have visibility across a national operation and work with teams throughout the business.

If you're a Planner, Scheduler or Coordinator who enjoys solving problems, balancing resources and making sure customers receive the service they've been promised, we'd be keen to hear from you.
