Account Manager

Barnsley - Hybrid
Up to £42,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus

The Opportunity:

Get Recruited are recruiting on behalf of a growing, technology-enabled service provider. This is a commercially focused, relationship-led role where you'll be responsible for managing and developing key accounts, strengthening customer relationships and identifying opportunities to retain and grow revenue.

This is a great opportunity for someone from an Account Manager, National Account Manager, Regional Sales, Field Sales, Area Sales, Business Development Manager or similar role.

We're looking for someone with strong B2B commercial experience, excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to understand and confidently communicate the value of a technology-enabled service. Previous experience within education or technology isn't essential. What's more important is your ability to understand customer needs, build lasting relationships and identify commercial opportunities that drive retention and long-term account growth.

The Role:

• Managing and developing a portfolio of key accounts, with a focus on customer retention and revenue growth
• Building strong, long-term relationships with senior stakeholders and key decision-makers
• Developing a strong understanding of the company's technology-enabled services and communicating their value to customers
• Identifying opportunities to increase revenue through account development, upselling and cross-selling
• Taking a proactive approach to customer retention, renewals and strengthening existing partnerships
• Creating new business opportunities and developing relationships with prospective customers
• Managing the commercial sales process from initial conversations through to renewal and account growth
• Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of commercial opportunities
• Keeping CRM activity, opportunities and forecasts up to date
• Working closely with internal teams to ensure customer needs are understood and opportunities are maximised
• Attending industry events, conferences and customer meetings
• Travelling across the UK to meet customers and develop key relationships

The Person:

• A strong background in B2B account management, business development or commercial sales
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities, protect existing revenue and grow accounts
• A proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior decision-makers
• Experience managing and developing existing customer accounts, alongside identifying new business opportunities
• The ability to quickly understand a technology-enabled service and confidently communicate its commercial value to customers
• A consultative, relationship-focused approach with the ability to understand customer challenges and position effective solutions
• Previous experience managing a national customer base and travelling across the UK would be a strong advantage
• Someone commercially curious, quick to learn and comfortable understanding new products, services and markets
• A proactive, driven and resilient individual who takes ownership of their accounts and uses their initiative
• Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgement and the ability to think strategically about customer relationships
• Someone organised, adaptable and comfortable managing multiple accounts and commercial opportunities
• Flexibility to travel regularly as part of the role
