Finance Manager

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to support a group of academies within a successful and growing education organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to make a meaningful impact within the education sector.

• Salary Range: £37,500– £40,500
• Hours: 37 hours per week
• Location: Essex (travel required across multiple sites)
• Start Date: November/December 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional financial guidance and support to school leaders and budget holders.
• Monitor budgets and produce accurate financial reports and analysis.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial performance reports.
• Oversee aged debtors and creditors, ensuring effective cash flow management.
• Support procurement activities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and best value principles.
• Input and maintain annual budgets within financial systems.
• Monitor expenditure and identify potential financial risks or variances.
• Ensure income is accurately recorded and allocated.
• Assist with internal audit processes and financial compliance activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
• Attend meetings across multiple sites as required.

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous experience in a finance management or senior finance role.
• Possess strong budgeting, financial reporting, and analytical skills.
• Be confident working with financial systems and management accounts.
• Have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Be able to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• Be comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
• Hold a full driving licence and be willing to travel between sites when required.
