The Role We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to deliver both active and passive fire protection works across multiple care homes across Croydon This is a hands-on role requiring strong organisational skills, technical awareness of retrofit and asset-improvement works, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams efficiently. What You’ll Do * Lead site-based teams and subcontractors, ensuring all fire safety installations, including fire doors, fire stopping, alarms, and associated systems, are completed safely, compliantly, and to the highest quality standards. * Work closely with clients, supervisors, operatives, and project stakeholders, drive programme performance, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the successful delivery of critical fire safety improvement works. * Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety, quality, and regulatory standards. * Deliver toolbox talks, risk assessments, and site inspections, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement. * Coordinating site activity, managing subcontractors, and working closely with Resident Liaison Officers, clients, and internal teams to ensure a smooth and positive experience for residents. * Coordinate, supervisors, operatives and subcontractors to meet programme, productivity and KPI targets * Ensure all works follow specifications, drawings, method statements and risk assessments * Conduct pre-inspections and provide clear, timely reports * Monitor onsite compliance, escalating issues promptly and ensuring corrective actions are closed out * Support programme planning, sequencing and access management * Monitor progress against daily/weekly targets and adjust resource allocation when needed About You * Proven experience supervising active and passive fire protection works within social housing. * Strong knowledge of passive fire protection systems, including fire stopping, compartmentation, fire doors, cavity barriers, and intumescent coatings. * Experience overseeing active fire protection installations, including fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, smoke control systems, and associated fire safety works. * Demonstrable experience managing direct labour and subcontractors to ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. * Good understanding of current fire safety legislation, Building Regulations, and relevant British Standards. * Experience of Health & Safety, RAMS, and compliance processes. * Experience managing teams and monitoring performance metrics. * IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, mobile work management systems). * CSCS card and supervisory safety training (SSSTS / SMSTS and/or IOSH Managing Safely preferred). * FIA, FDIS, FIRAS, BM Trada or equivalent fire industry qualifications (desirable) What We Offer * Salary up to £55,000 based upon experience * Company vehicle + fuel card (business use) * Pension scheme and life assurance * 25 days’ holiday + bank holidays * Perkbox (discounts, perks & wellbeing offers) * 1 paid volunteer day * £2000 refer-a-friend bonus after the referee passes probation Why Axis CLC?
