  • Complete paperwork and record information accurately using SAP.
  • Carry out hygiene and cleaning tasks to maintain site standards.
  • Perform quality checks and food safety controls.
  • Monitor equipment and report maintenance issues.
  • Support audits, inspections and site visits.
  • Work closely with hauliers, contractors and colleagues across the maltings.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a good general education.
  • Is willing to learn new skills and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Has awareness of Health & Safety principles.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Has basic keyboard and computer skills.
  • Is reliable, flexible and self-motivated.
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene and quality.

The role

  • Reporting to the Intake Team Leader.
  • No line management responsibilities.
  • Day-based working pattern, with shift working required during the harvest period.
  • Harvest shifts may include evenings, nights and weekends, paid at the appropriate rates.
  • Annual leave restrictions apply from mid-July to the end of September.

Why this role matters

The Intake team plays a critical role in ensuring the barley entering our maltings meets the quality and food safety standards required for our products. You'll help maintain excellent standards of Food Safety, HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practice, Health & Safety and environmental performance.
