A global engineering and professional service organisation is seeking an experienced Organisational Design Consultant to support a major transformation programme. Working closely with the Global Organisation Effectiveness Director, CPO and executive stakeholders, you will translate operating model changes into effective organisational structures, leading spans and layers analysis, organisation design, workforce modelling and governance reviews. This role requires to be proven organisational design expertise within complex environments, strong analytical capability and the ability to influence senior stakeholders through large-scale change. Your New CompanyA global engineering and professional services organisation employing approximately 18,000 people across multiple international regions is embarking on a significant organisational transformation programme.Following a period of sustained growth and acquisition activity, the organisation is redesigning its operating model to simplify leadership structures, improve accountability, remove duplication and drive greater alignment across its global business units. They are looking for someone who will lead multidisciplinary project teams through different phases of the programme.
Your New RoleReporting to the Global Organisation Effectiveness Director and working closely with the Chief People Officer and Chief Transformation Officer. The role is an individual contributor position, but you will lead multidisciplinary project teams through different phases of the programme.You will translate the organisation's new operating model into practical organisational structures, initially focusing on senior leadership and regional structures before progressing deeper into functional organisations.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate the target operating model into effective organisational structures and design principles.
• Conduct organisational diagnostics, including spans and layers analysis, capability mapping and organisational health reviews.
• Develop and assess organisational design options, providing recommendations to executive stakeholders.
• Facilitate organisational design workshops with senior leaders across global and regional functions.
• Design leadership structures, reporting lines, governance frameworks and accountability models.
• Partner with Finance to model workforce, cost and headcount implications of proposed structures.
• Work closely with Reward and HR teams on role design, job architecture and leadership frameworks.

What You'll Need to SucceedEssentials:

• Significant experience designing organisational structures and implementing restructures.
• Strong experience conducting spans and layers analysis, organisation mapping and capability assessment.
• Experience translating operating models and business strategy into practical organisational designs.
• Strong analytical and workforce planning capability with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders, including executive leadership teams.
• Experience working across HR, Finance and business functions simultaneously.
• Excellent facilitation, stakeholder management and consulting skills.

Desirable

• Global organisational design experience across multiple geographies.
• Previous management consulting background with a strong consulting mindset.
• Knowledge of job architecture, job evaluation and reward frameworks.
• Experience designing matrix organisations and complex reporting structures.
• Exposure to organisational network analysis or specialist OD methodologies and tools.
• Able to navigate competing regional priorities
