About the Client: Elvet Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a premier, highly respected civil engineering and infrastructure contractor. Operating for over 50 years, our client has built an expert reputation for turning complex civil challenges into high-quality solutions. They deliver vital infrastructure projects across the UK, ranging from local small works up to multi-million-pound capital schemes. Due to several major, long-term framework wins and a secured pipeline of regional work, they are looking to strengthen their commercial division with the appointment of an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor. Key Responsibilities: * Assist in the procurement, management, and final account agreement of sub-contractors. * Undertake site measurements and valuations to ensure accurate project cost tracking. * Assist in the preparation of monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs) and cash flow forecasts. * Identify, record, and price variations or changes to the scope of work. * Maintain clear and transparent commercial records aligned with contractual obligations. * Attend site meetings and collaborate closely with Project Managers and Site Engineers. Key Requirements: * Minimum of 1–2 years of experience within a commercial construction environment (experience with a civil engineering, utilities, or groundworks contractor is highly advantageous). * Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline (HNC / HND / Degree). Candidates nearing completion of part-time studies will also be considered. * Basic understanding of civil engineering construction methods and standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC4). * Strong IT skills, particularly with MS Excel. * Valid UK driving licence (as travel to regional sites will be required). What’s on Offer? This contractor is widely recognised for its exceptional training and "grow your own" culture. Alongside a highly competitive salary and package (including a company car or car allowance), you will enjoy a supportive environment that prioritises employee wellbeing and safety. Remuneration An attractive salary up to £60,000 with attractive package including * Ongoing CPD support to keep your skills sharp and up to date. * Fully funded training and development to help you achieve your goals. * 27 days of annual leave plus bank holidays – because downtime matters. * Above average pension scheme with various options * Cycle to work scheme This is a permanent position and Elvet Recruitment Limited will be acting as an employment agency for permanent recruitment on behalf of our client.
