Legal Cashier

Location: East London

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

About Us

We are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join their dynamic finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to play a key role in supporting the firm’s financial operations.

The Role

As a Legal Cashier, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the firm’s day-to-day financial processes. Your duties will include:

• Processing client and office account transactions
• Performing daily bank reconciliations
• Managing incoming and outgoing payments (including BACS/CHAPS)
• Posting bills, disbursements, and write-offs
• Liaising with solicitors, clients, and external bodies
• Handling petty cash and expenses
• Supporting month-end and year-end reporting
• Assisting with credit control and recovery of funds
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers
• Ensuring compliance with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (SAR)

Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

• Proven experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm (essential)
• Strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Proficiency in legal accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Legal Aid experience (desirable)
