Help Shape Compliant Procurement in a New Regulatory Era

The introduction of the Procurement Act 2023 is transforming how public sector organisations procure goods, services, and works. Our client is seeking a highly organised and proactive Procurement Officer to play a key role in supporting compliant, transparent, and effective procurement activity across a diverse portfolio of clients and consultancy projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with procurement or business support experience who is looking to develop their career within a consultancy environment and gain hands-on exposure to regulated procurement activity under the Procurement Act 2023.

Working remotely, with occasional travel to Norfolk (with wider Uk travel in the foreseeable future), you will support a dedicated housing association client alongside a range of consultancy projects. You will help ensure procurement exercises, supplier management activities, and contract records are managed efficiently and in line with legislative and organisational requirements.

The Role

As a Procurement Officer, you will provide operational and administrative support across a broad range of procurement activities, ensuring procurement processes are delivered effectively, records are maintained accurately, and compliance obligations are met.

A key aspect of the role will involve supporting procurement activity undertaken in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023, maintaining robust audit trails, managing procurement records, coordinating supplier information, and providing administrative support throughout the tender process from planning through to contract award and implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support compliant procurement activity across public sector and regulated environments.
  • Assist Procurement Consultants and Procurement Managers in delivering procurement exercises under the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and auditable documentation to support governance and transparency requirements.
  • Manage procurement pipelines, contract registers, and supplier databases.
  • Support supplier onboarding, due diligence, and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Coordinate tender documentation, clarification processes, evaluation administration, and contract award activities.
  • Produce procurement reports and management information to support decision-making and compliance monitoring.
  • Manage procurement mailboxes and stakeholder communications.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen procurement governance, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
About You

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented professional who understands the importance of strong procurement governance and can confidently manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

Essential Requirements
  • Experience in procurement, contract management, project support, commercial administration, or a similar business support role.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience maintaining registers, databases, trackers, and management information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Experience handling confidential and commercially sensitive information.
  • A commitment to maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance requirements.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience supporting public sector procurement activity.
  • Understanding of the Procurement Act 2023, including its principles of transparency, competition, governance, and auditability.
  • Experience supporting procurement exercises through e-tendering platforms.
  • Knowledge of supplier onboarding, due diligence, and contract administration processes.
  • Experience maintaining contract registers and procurement records.
  • Experience within housing associations, local authorities, public sector organisations, or procurement consultancies.
  • CIPS qualification or a willingness to work towards one.
