Buyer Vacancy (Construction)

• Annual Salary: Up to £50k per annum

• Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (onsite)

Join a leading multi-disciplinary construction company who is seeking an experienced Buyer to manage purchasing activities efficiently, ensuring all materials, equipment, and services are procured in line with project requirements at their North London office.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Raising and processing purchase orders using Sage.
• Sourcing materials, equipment, and subcontract services from approved suppliers.
• Obtaining quotations and negotiating prices, delivery schedules, and terms where appropriate.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Monitoring stock levels and ordering materials as required.
• Liaising with Project Managers, Engineers, and other departments to ensure project requirements are met.
• Expediting outstanding orders and resolving any delivery issues.
• Checking supplier order acknowledgements and invoices for accuracy.
• Maintaining accurate purchasing records and supplier information within Sage.
• Identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved purchasing efficiencies.
• Assisting with supplier performance reviews and maintaining the approved supplier database.
• Supporting the Purchasing Manager and wider business with procurement activities as required.
• Ensuring all purchasing activities comply with company procedures and quality standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a purchasing or buying role.
• Proficiency in using Sage Accounts.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience within the construction, engineering, refrigeration, or building services industry would be advantageous.
