Hygiene Operative

Location: East Lothian
Pay: Up to £14.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Overtime Available

We are currently recruiting for a Hygiene Operative to join a busy food production environment. This role is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across production, storage and staff areas, helping to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled cleaning tasks across operational and non-operational areas
• Sanitising production equipment and workstations to required standards
• Cleaning storage areas, walkways, welfare facilities and communal spaces
• Using cleaning products and equipment safely and in line with company procedures
• Following hygiene, food safety and health & safety requirements at all times
• Conducting deep-clean activities as part of planned cleaning schedules
• Ensuring cleaning materials and supplies are stored correctly
• Reporting any maintenance, cleanliness or safety concerns to management
• Working alongside colleagues to maintain a clean and organised site
• Supporting additional cleaning and housekeeping duties as required

What We're Looking For

• Previous cleaning experience within manufacturing, production, warehouse or food environments is beneficial
• Knowledge of hygiene and health & safety practices
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking approach
• Good communication skills
• Own transport or reliable access to site due to location
