The Role - Teaching Assistant As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with their learning, development and classroom routines, working closely with the class teacher to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting children across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Assisting with play-based learning and practical classroom activities. Encouraging children's communication, language and social development. Supporting phonics, early literacy and basic numeracy activities. Helping children develop independence with daily routines. Promoting positive behaviour and ensuring pupils feel safe and supported. Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required. Requirements Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Nursery Assistant or Early Years Practitioner. Experience supporting children in nursery or Reception is highly desirable. A patient, caring and proactive approach to supporting young learners. Good communication and teamwork skills. An understanding of safeguarding and child development. A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Reeson Education.Relevant childcare or Teaching Assistant qualifications are advantageous but not essential where suitable experience can be demonstrated.
