Every commercial building has its off days: a tripped circuit, a plant alarm, a system that isn't quite doing what it should. When that happens, the site team needs a Multi Skilled Engineer in London who can get there, diagnose the issue and sort it properly. That's where you come in. You'll be the steady, capable pair of hands who keeps buildings safe, compliant and running smoothly for the people inside them. We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established national facilities management provider, looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join their building services team, based near Shoreditch in London. This is a mobile role, so rather than being tied to a single building, you'll support a portfolio of commercial properties across Central London (Zones 1 & 2). You'll travel to the sites where you're needed most to keep things running, covering everything from planned maintenance to fault finding. If you like variety and enjoy being the person others rely on, this one's for you. THE ROLE • Carrying out day-to-day servicing of electrical infrastructure, along with breakdown maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems and equipment • Delivering PPM, planned maintenance and reactive response within agreed service level agreements • Fault finding, making plant adjustments, and checking and inspecting electrical services, plant and systems in line with the contract specification • Working to safe systems of work and health and safety procedures at all times, in line with HASAWA and statutory obligations • Helping to carry out sub-contractor inductions and making sure people are put safely to work • Handling reactive and extra works to the required engineering standards • Producing technical incident reports and supporting documentation when requested • Completing daily worksheets and maintenance and inspection records accurately and on time • Assisting and deputising for the Supervisor when required, reporting into the Contract Manager WHO WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM • A strong technical background, either mechanically or electrically qualified, with solid experience in building services engineering • A good understanding of statutory compliance, including HVAC and water treatment • IOSH Working Safely or a similar health and safety qualification • Experience in a customer-facing role, with a focus on keeping clients happy • Confident working on your own initiative and as part of a wider team • Good time management and the ability to prioritise across multiple sites • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • A logical, evidence-based approach to problem solving • Adaptable, flexible and comfortable with change WHAT'S ON OFFER • Salary of circa £45,000–£48,000 per annum • Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week (8 hours a day) • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays • Company pension, with 5% employee and 4% employer contributions based on basic salary • Overtime paid at enhanced rates: time and a half after normal hours Monday to Friday and until 12.30pm on Saturday, then double time from 1pm on Saturday and all day Sunday • Varied work across a portfolio of prestigious Central London commercial buildings, with a respected national employer If you're a multi skilled engineer who enjoys variety and wants a role where no two days are the same, send me your up-to-date CV and I'll give you a call for a confidential chat about the position. This role may also be known as: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Mobile Maintenance Engineer, Resilience Engineer, Building Services Engineer, M&E Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, PPM Engineer, Reactive Maintenance Engineer, FM Engineer, Commercial Maintenance Engineer
