About the role

As Year 4 Teacher, you will take full responsibility for planning, teaching and assessing a mixed-ability class across all areas of the KS2 National Curriculum. You will work within a collaborative year group team where planning is shared, workload is managed sensibly and every teacher's contribution is valued.

Year 4 is a key year for times tables fluency, culminating in the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) in the summer term. The school expects their Year 4 Teacher to have a confident approach to teaching and reinforcing times tables across the year in engaging, meaningful ways.

You will differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and EAL, and will work closely with teaching assistants and the wider school team to ensure no child is left behind.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
  • Proven experience teaching Year 4 or KS2, with confident subject knowledge across the National Curriculum
  • Strong understanding of the Multiplication Tables Check and strategies for building times tables fluency
  • Ability to plan engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND and EAL in a mainstream primary setting
  • Positive behaviour management and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and parents
  • A collaborative, flexible approach and willingness to be an active member of the year group team
