Your new company
Hays are recruiting on behalf of a growing Multi Academy Trust based in Greater Manchester. The organisation supports a large portfolio of primary and secondary schools and is continuing to grow across the region. As part of this growth, the Trust is looking to expand its central finance team with the appointment of a Senior Finance Business Partner.

Your new role
We are seeking a forward thinking, highly organised and personable finance professional, who can support the CFO and head of financial planning and reporting, and work with the wider finance team and existing Business Partners, to ensure that the Trust's finance systems are robust and that there is a consistent approach to financial reporting, financial planning and analysis and compliance. The post-holder will lead a team of finance business partners and also support a portfolio of schools to ensure clear monthly reporting, re-forecasting, budgeting and planning, including integrated curriculum financial planning. This role will have a focus on working with newly converted schools. The Senior Finance Business Partner will have responsibility for the line management of a team of finance business partners, supporting the CFO and wider team with delivery of the finance strategy, budgets and forecasts for a portfolio of schools, monthly management accounts and the smooth financial on-boarding of new schools joining the Trust.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have a good standard of education including strong GCSE level passes in English and Maths and be educated to at least A Level or equivalent. You will hold an CIMA/ACA/CIPFA or other recognised finance qualification. You will have a minimum 5 years' experience in a finance role that includes financial transaction, reporting and preparation of reconciliations and management accounts, alongside experience of setting and monitoring budgets. A minimum 3 years' experience of line management, including management of qualified professionals, is also essential. You will have the ability to use financial management information systems, knowledge of budgeting and re-forecasting processes and the ability to contribute to the preparation of statutory accounts. Knowledge of integrated curriculum financial planning, the regulatory framework for multi academy trusts and experience of the education charity sector are desirable.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary of £64,000 - £67,000, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, 26/31 days annual leave plus up to 4 additional Christmas closure days. The organisation operates a flexible working model, with the option to work occasionally from home, alongside the opportunity to play a key role within a growing central finance team.
