Due to continued growth, the business is looking for an experienced Service Charge Accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a strong understanding of service charge accounting.

The Role

This is a varied and hands-on position where you'll take responsibility for key service charge accounting processes, working closely with Property Managers, external accountants, clients, tenants and suppliers to ensure everything runs smoothly and deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare income and expenditure reports and supporting documentation for external accountants to produce year-end service charge accounts.
• Take ownership of the year-end service charge process, ensuring accounts are completed accurately and on time.
• Liaise with external accountants to resolve queries and keep the process moving efficiently.
• Support Property Managers with budget preparation and reviews.
• Raise regular service charge demands and ad hoc tenant recharges.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, tenants, suppliers and other external stakeholders, resolving queries professionally.
• Assist with annual audits and the collection of outstanding service charge arrears.
• Prepare client reports and complete bank reconciliations.
• Support the setup of new properties on the system and assist with property handovers.
• Get involved in ad hoc projects and contribute to the ongoing success of the Accounts team.
