We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will take ownership of early-stage 3D CAD modeling, kinematic and space allocation assessments, and technical R&D support.
Working closely with senior staff and cross-functional teams, you will turn initial research concepts into structured mechanical design layouts and establish practical design guidelines. The ideal candidate has strong core engineering fundamentals, hands-on CAD expertise, and a track record of solving spatial packaging challenges independently.
Key Responsibilities
CAD & Spatial Packaging: Lead 3D CAD layout creation, envelope studies, and spatial integration to ensure efficient component allocation.
R&D & Tech Support: Provide practical engineering support across active technology research projects, running initial trade-offs and layout feasibility assessments.
Design Principles & Standards: Assist in defining, drafting, and applying foundational design rules and best practices for new development efforts.
Detailed Modeling: Generate parametric 3D models, basic assembly structures, and technical documentation to support design reviews.
Team Collaboration: Coordinate with testing, manufacturing, and systems leads to resolve interface conflicts and iterate on geometric layouts.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Technical Skills
CAD Proficiency: 3–5 years of hands-on experience using major parametric 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or Siemens NX).
Spatial & Layout Integration: Solid background in space allocation, interface management, and packaging components within tight geometric envelopes.
Engineering Fundamentals: Strong understanding of mechanics, materials, tolerance stack-ups, and practical manufacturing constraints.
R&D / Concept Design: Experience translating broad project requirements into clear 3D layout options and design documentation.
Working Style
Independent Execution: Comfortable taking a concept layout from initial assignment to completed 3D study with minimal supervision.
Structured Problem Solving: Ability to evaluate trade-offs when spatial or technical constraints conflict.
Clear Communication: Experienced in presenting CAD concepts and technical updates to project stakeholders
