Interim Accounts Payable Assistant Milton Keynes £16–£18 per hour | 40 hours per week | Hybrid working
We are working with a leading local business that is looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Payable professional on an interim basis to support the team with a backlog of work across the function.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced finance environment, can hit the ground running and is confident managing high volumes of invoices and supplier queries. With an immediate focus on bringing the AP function up to date, you will play a key role in supporting the wider finance team and ensuring day-to-day processes run smoothly.
The Role As Interim Accounts Payable Assistant, you will support the end-to-end accounts payable process, helping to clear the existing backlog while maintaining accuracy and efficiency across the function.
Key responsibilities will include:
Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies and queries.
Reconciling supplier statements and investigating outstanding balances.
Managing supplier queries and maintaining strong working relationships.
Supporting payment runs and ensuring invoices are processed within agreed timescales.
Reviewing outstanding items and prioritising work to reduce the existing backlog.
Assisting with general accounts payable administration and supporting the wider finance team as required.
About You:
Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger role.
Comfortable working in a high-volume environment with a significant workload to manage.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to processing.
Good communication skills, particularly when dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Able to prioritise effectively, work to deadlines and hit the ground running.
Available to commit to an interim assignment.
