About the Client

Our client is a highly successful, rapidly expanding producer of high-performance metal solutions. Renowned for their uncompromising reputation for quality finished products, they supply precision-engineered components to premium sectors. Due to sustained growth and investment in state-of-the-art machinery, they are now seeking an experienced CNC Press Brake Operator to join their skilled workshop team in Thatcham.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled fabricator to work with high-quality materials and complex, low-volume/high-variance projects. You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC press brakes to produce precision components, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and operate CNC Press Brakes (Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf or similar multi-axis machines).
  • Select correct tooling, including top punches and bottom V-dies, based on material thickness and specifications.
  • Interpret engineering drawings (blueprints) to determine bend sequences and tolerances.
  • Form complex, high-precision parts in various metals (stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel).
  • Perform self-inspection of finished parts using calipers, protractors, and verniers to guarantee strict quality standards.
  • Adjust programs and machine settings to account for material variations and springback.

About You:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Press Brake Setter/Operator within a precision fabrication or sheet metal environment.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills with a solid understanding of bend allowances and material characteristics.
  • Ability to work independently, executing setups from start to finish rather than just "button pushing."
  • High attention to detail with a pride in producing clean, high-performance metalwork.
  • Reliable team player with a proactive attitude toward workshop efficiency and safety.

What’s on Offer?

  • Highly competitive pay scale (£17.50 to £25.00/hr) tailored precisely to your level of expertise and setup capabilities.
  • Plentiful overtime opportunities to significantly boost your take-home pay.
  • A stable, thriving business that invests heavily in its facility, equipment, and staff.
  • Clean, modern, and well-organised workshop conditions.
