Class 2 Shunter - Relief Team Member
Location: West Thurrock Depot, RM20 3LB

Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: 22:00 - 06:00

About the Role
This role provides operational cover during annual leave, sickness absence, peak working on behalf of our client in West Thurrock.

As a Class 2 Shunter, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient movement of vehicles within the depot, ensuring trailers and vehicles are positioned correctly to support smooth distribution operations. You will work closely with the Transport and Warehouse teams to maintain workflow and meet site objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely manoeuvre Class 2 vehicles within the yard and depot area.
• Ensure vehicles and trailers are positioned correctly for loading and unloading.
• Support yard operations, including loading and unloading activities where required.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard environment.
• Liaise with Warehouse and Transport teams to ensure efficient operations.
• Adhere to all health & safety regulations, company policies, and site procedures.
• Support general depot duties as required.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Category C Driving Licence (no more than 6 points)
• Current and valid Driver CPC
• Current and valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous shunting or yard experience is preferred
• Forklift licence (B1 Counterbalance) is desirable
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills
