Contract Opportunity: Mechanical Pipe Fitter - Substation Installation Location: Slough, Berkshire Contract Type: Contract - Outside IR35 Rate: Up to £300 Positions Available: 1-2 contractors The Opportunity We are seeking experienced Mechanical Pipe Fitters for a substation installation project in Slough. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled contractors with a strong background in mechanical pipework, ideally within fire protection systems. Experience with grooved and threaded pipework is essential, and candidates may be required to hold relevant National Grid authorisations. We are open to considering up to two suitable contractors for this project. Key Responsibilities Carry out mechanical pipe fitting and installation works on a substation project. Install and assemble grooved and threaded pipework. Undertake pipework installation associated with fire protection systems, where applicable. Ensure all work is completed safely and to the required quality standards. Comply with relevant site procedures, health and safety requirements, and project specifications. Essential Skills and Experience Proven experience as a Mechanical Pipe Fitter. Practical experience with grooved and threaded pipework. Strong mechanical installation and pipe fitting skills. Ability to work safely and effectively within a construction or industrial environment. Desirable Previous experience working on fire protection systems. Experience working on substations or similar industrial infrastructure projects. Relevant National Grid authorisations, or the ability to meet the project's authorisation requirements.
