We're working with an established engineering consultancy in Bristol who are looking to bring another Structural Engineer into their team.
It's a really good opportunity for someone who enjoys the design side of engineering and wants to get involved in a decent variety of projects, rather than working on the same type of buildings day in, day out.
The company has a strong reputation, a steady workload and a friendly team of engineers. They work across a mix of new-build, refurbishment and alteration projects, so there's plenty of variety and some interesting technical challenges along the way.
The Role
You'll be involved in projects from the early design stages right through to construction, producing structural calculations, working on designs and liaising with architects, contractors and other consultants.
You'll be designing in steel, concrete, masonry and timber, as well as getting involved in assessments and alterations to existing buildings.
There's also the opportunity to take more ownership of projects as you develop, with support from experienced engineers when needed.
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you'll have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and some experience working within a structural engineering consultancy.
You'll need a good understanding of building structures, be comfortable with structural calculations and have experience using design software such as Tekla Structural Designer or similar.
You don't need to be chartered, although if you're working towards it, the company will support you.
More importantly, they're looking for someone who's technically capable, enjoys what they do and is happy working as part of a team.
What's on Offer?
Alongside a competitive salary and bonus scheme, the company offers flexible working, ongoing professional development and the opportunity to progress your career.
It's a supportive environment where you'll get the chance to work on a good range of projects without being lost in a large corporate structure.
Interested? If you're a Structural Engineer in Bristol who's starting to think about a move, or just curious to see what else is out there, feel free to get in touch.
