Description

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients across the full self-assessment cycle.
• Prepare and review personal tax returns covering individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates.
• Manage information gathering, client communications and HMRC submissions.
• Prepare 60-day Capital Gains Tax returns and associated client correspondence.
• Oversee the P11D compliance process, including benefit and expense reporting.
• Support senior tax professionals with compliance aspects of advisory and planning projects.
• Assist with Trust Registration Service submissions and inheritance tax compliance matters.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing day-to-day tax support.
• Liaise directly with HMRC and resolve compliance-related queries.
• Work closely with payroll and wider practice teams to ensure a joined-up client service.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and enhance client delivery.
• Support and guide junior team members where appropriate.

Profile

• ATT qualified or qualified by experience.
• Strong personal tax compliance experience gained within an accountancy practice.
• Experience managing a portfolio of private clients.
• Good knowledge of self-assessment, capital gains tax and personal tax compliance.
• Exposure to trusts, estates and inheritance tax matters would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of HMRC processes and filing obligations.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build client relationships.
• Proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating with wider teams.
