Head of Advice – Wealth Management

Central London | £120,000 + Bonus & Excellent Benefits

Reference: JC/24189

Are you an experienced Wealth Management leader looking for a senior role where you can genuinely influence the direction of a business, develop talented Financial Advisers and have a seat at the table when important decisions are made?

I'm working with one of the UK's leading Chartered Wealth Management firms, a business we've partnered with for over 10 years and placed multiple professionals with during that time.

The firm has an excellent reputation and has more than trebled in size through consistent organic growth. As the business continues to expand, they're looking to appoint a Head of Advice to lead and develop their Financial Adviser team.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering a £120,000 basic salary, bonus, excellent benefits and a position within the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the Board.

You'll have considerable autonomy, the opportunity to influence business strategy and the chance to make a real difference within an established and successful Wealth Management firm.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Excellent package – £120,000 basic salary plus bonus and benefits.
  • Senior leadership position – Join the Senior Management Team and report directly to the Board.
  • Genuine influence – Have a real say in the development of the Adviser team and the wider business.
  • Established, successful firm – Join one of the UK's leading Chartered Wealth Management businesses.
  • Strong growth record – The firm has more than trebled in size through organic growth.
  • Autonomy and responsibility – The freedom to introduce ideas, improve processes and shape the future of the advice function.
  • Varied and rewarding role – Work with Advisers at different stages of their careers, from those just starting out to established professionals managing substantial client portfolios.

What Will You Be Doing?

You'll take responsibility for leading and developing a team of Financial Advisers with varying levels of experience.

Some will be highly established Advisers managing over £100 million in assets, while others will be earlier in their careers and looking for guidance, coaching and support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, mentoring and developing a team of Financial Advisers.
  • Supporting experienced Advisers with succession planning and longer-term business strategies.
  • Coaching less experienced Advisers to help them develop their skills, confidence and client relationships.
  • Driving revenue growth and identifying opportunities to improve business performance.
  • Holding regular one-to-one meetings to review performance, pipelines and individual business plans.
  • Identifying training needs and introducing tailored coaching and development plans.
  • Improving lead generation, referral opportunities and conversion rates.
  • Ensuring Advisers meet the firm's Training and Competence requirements and maintain high advice standards.
  • Working closely with the Board and wider leadership team on business strategy and future growth.

What Experience Will You Need?

This role would suit an experienced Head of Advice, Regional Director, Sales Director or Senior Wealth Management Manager who has a successful track record of leading Financial Advisers and is ready for a position with greater influence and responsibility.

You'll need:

  • A minimum Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent.
  • A proven track record of successfully managing and developing a team of Financial Advisers.
  • Strong experience within Wealth Management or Financial Planning.
  • A good understanding of Adviser performance, revenue generation and business development.
  • Experience coaching Advisers at different stages of their careers.
  • A sound understanding of regulatory requirements, advice standards and Training and Competence.
  • The confidence to work directly with Board members and contribute to strategic decisions.
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.

Interested in Finding Out More?

If you're currently leading a team of Financial Advisers but feel ready for a role with more autonomy, greater strategic involvement and the opportunity to make a lasting impact, this could be an excellent next step.

This isn't simply about managing Adviser performance. It's about helping shape the future of the advice function within a successful and growing Wealth Management business.

If you'd like to find out more, I'd be delighted to have an informal, confidential conversation.
