Assistant Management Accountant -Part Qualified

• Annual Salary: £45 - 50k
• Job Type: Full-time, Permanent office based role with free parking on site.
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are seeking a Part Qualified Assistant Management Accountant or Management Accountant to join our growing finance team. This new role is designed to support core accounting functions and take ownership of our smaller entity, enabling our finance function to scale effectively. You will be a key member of our team, working closely with the UK Controller and interfacing directly with our sales and operations teams.

Day-to-day of the role:

Main Entity:

• Raise and issue sales invoices using our bespoke legacy billing system, ensuring accuracy in customer records.
• Process purchase invoices, match them to orders, and code them correctly.
• Prepare and run weekly supplier payment runs for approval.
• Complete bank reconciliations and post bank transactions.
• Manage aged debt and resolve supplier queries.
• Conduct cash flow forecasting and variance analysis.
• Post general journals, including accruals, prepayments, and recharges.

Month End to Trial Balance (Main Entity):

• Support the month-end close process to meet agreed deadlines, ensuring a clean and reviewed trial balance.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations with clear supporting schedules.
• Post intercompany transactions and reconcile intercompany balances across the group.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and post depreciation.

Smaller Entity:

• Manage all accounting postings, bank reconciliations, and the month-end close.
• Act as the primary contact for the Director regarding this entity.
• Create and maintain the month-end close pack.

Systems, Improvement, and Compliance:

• Assist in the rollout of new AI-enabled accounting systems and suggest improvements for automation.
• Document processes clearly for consistency and compliance.
• Support audit, VAT, and other statutory requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 3+ years in finance covering purchase ledger, sales ledger, and general ledger.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close processes including journals, consolidations, management accounts, balance sheets and P&L's
• Media industry space experience is desirable as someone who understands the project side of a business
• Part-qualified in ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Strong Excel skills (lookups and pivot tables).
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and Xero is essential
• Experience of SOX control advantageous
• Comfortable learning new systems, including bespoke platforms.

Desirable:

• Multi-entity or intercompany accounting experience.
• Experience with system implementation or migration.
• Interest in AI or automation tools in finance.
• Knowledge of UK VAT.
