Head of Commercial Finance

Ethos Talent is partnering with a highly recognisable and ambitious multi-site business to appoint a Head of Commercial Finance.

This is a senior, high-profile opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys working closely with operational teams and influencing decision-making across a complex organisation.

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of the commercial finance and FP&A agenda, providing the insight, challenge and financial direction needed to support continued growth and improve business performance.

The role

You will lead a talented finance team and work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, with responsibility for:

• Leading budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning across a multi-site operation
• Providing clear commercial insight around P&L, cashflow, margin, volume and key performance drivers
• Partnering with operational, commercial and functional leaders to improve profitability and performance
• Developing financial models to support investment decisions, pricing, profitability and strategic initiatives
• Identifying trends, risks and opportunities and translating these into clear actions
• Supporting senior leadership with board-level reporting, scenario planning and commercial analysis
• Leading, coaching and developing the commercial finance and FP&A team
• Improving reporting, systems, processes, data quality and management information

About you

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong background in commercial finance, FP&A or finance business partnering within a complex and fast-paced environment.

Ideally, you will have experience operating within a multi-site, operationally focused business, alongside:

• Leading budgeting, forecasting and planning cycles
• Partnering with and influencing senior operational stakeholders
• Delivering commercial analysis that supports business decisions
• Building financial models and evaluating investment opportunities
• Leading and developing finance teams
• Improving reporting and finance processes
• Advanced Excel skills and exposure to ERP, planning and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar

This opportunity could suit an established Head of Commercial Finance or Head of FP&A, as well as a Senior Finance Business Partner or commercially focused Financial Controller ready to take on a broader leadership remit.
