Our client is a well-established and highly respected law firm based in London with a strong reputation for providing high-quality family law services. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Family Solicitor (NQ-5 Years PQE) to join their busy Family Department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop their career across both privately funded and legally aided family matters, working within a supportive and collaborative team.

The Role

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of family matters, representing clients in both private and publicly funded cases. The role will involve advising and assisting clients on a range of family law issues, with a particular focus on financial remedy and child arrangements matters.

The successful applicant will be expected to handle matters independently while receiving appropriate supervision and support where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of private and legal aid family matters from instruction through to conclusion.
• Advising clients on divorce and separation matters.
• Conducting financial remedy proceedings, including negotiating financial settlements and preparing court applications.
• Managing child arrangements disputes and matters relating to parental responsibility.
• Representing clients at hearings and attending court where required.
• Drafting legal documents, witness statements, applications and consent orders.
• Preparing legal aid applications and ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements.
• Negotiating settlements and seeking pragmatic solutions for clients.
• Maintaining regular communication with clients and providing clear legal advice.
• Ensuring files are managed efficiently and in compliance with SRA and firm procedures.
• Participating in business development and networking activities where appropriate.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Qualified Solicitor (NQ to 5 Years PQE).
• Previous experience handling family law matters.
• Experience dealing with both private and legally aided family work.
• Knowledge of Financial Remedy proceedings.
• Experience with Child Arrangements and Children Act matters.
• Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
• Excellent client care and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

• Family Law accreditation or working towards accreditation.
• Experience conducting own advocacy.
• Experience using case management systems.
