We are recruiting for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join a friendly, close-knit finance team within an established group operating across the property and agriculture sectors.Reporting to the Group Accountant, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end processing of purchase invoices across four companies, from initial receipt and coding through to payment.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
• Uploading, registering and coding invoices onto the finance system
• Managing supplier queries and ensuring accounts are kept up to date
• Liaising with budget holders to ensure invoices are authorised promptly
• Preparing payment files for management approval and processing one-off payments
• Reconciling monthly supplier statements
• Investigating and resolving outstanding creditor items
• Liaising with suppliers, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders
• Ensuring AP processes comply with financial policies and procedures
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties when required

What we're looking for:You will ideally have previous experience within a busy Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger environment and be confident processing a high volume of transactions while maintaining excellent accuracy.
You'll also bring:

• Strong Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger experience
• Experience using computerised accounting systems
• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confident written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive approach to resolving supplier and invoice queries
• The ability to work effectively as part of a small, supportive finance team
