Our client is a leading service business recruiting a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join its Leicester finance team. You will play an important part in keeping supplier accounts accurate and payments running smoothly.

The role

• Processing and coding supplier invoices.
• Matching invoices to purchase orders and obtaining approvals.
• Resolving invoice discrepancies and supplier queries.
• Reconciling supplier statements.
• Preparing payment runs for authorisation.
• Maintaining accurate supplier records and following payment controls.
• Completing month end purchase ledger routines.

About you

You will bring experience across the full purchase ledger process, including supplier reconciliations and payment runs.

You may currently work within an SME, where you handle purchase ledger from start to finish, or be an Accounts Assistant whose responsibilities include managing supplier accounts. Experience from a larger finance team is equally relevant if you have covered the full process.

Accuracy, organisation and the confidence to see queries through to resolution will matter more than formal qualifications. Previous accounting system experience is required, with training provided on the company’s systems.

• Salary of £26,000 to £30,000, depending on experience.
• Hybrid working, initially three days per week in the Leicester office, potentially reducing to two once established.
