Temporary Purchase Ledger Assistant

Reed Accountancy is supporting a well-established organisation in the recruitment of a Temporary Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their finance team on an immediate basis through to Christmas.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional with strong purchase ledger and supplier management experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and building strong relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of purchase ledger accounts from processing through to payment.
• Process employee expense claims accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare monthly reports for Finance and Purchasing teams, highlighting any issues or areas requiring attention.
• Respond to supplier and internal stakeholder payment queries via telephone and email in a timely manner.
• Liaise with internal departments to resolve purchase order and invoice discrepancies.
• Conduct weekly aged creditor reviews with the finance team.
• Maintain records of supplier advance payments using Excel.
• Review and clear invoices placed on hold, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
• Maintain and reconcile Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI) accounts.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, and procedures.
• Provide cover for supplier payment proposal preparation when required.

Essential:

• Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable, or similar finance role.
• Strong Excel skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
