The Role

We are recruiting for a Planned Maintenance Surveyor to join a growing property team responsible for maintaining and improving a diverse portfolio of residential properties across England and Wales.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes, helping to ensure residents enjoy safe, high-quality homes while supporting wider energy efficiency and sustainability objectives.

Working as part of a new team managing approximately £8 million of planned works annually, you will oversee projects from initial surveys and specification through to contractor management, site inspections and final sign-off. Projects will range from roofing and window replacements to kitchen and bathroom refurbishments, heating upgrades and energy efficiency improvements.

You will work closely with residents, contractors, consultants and internal teams, ensuring works are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget. The role will also involve monitoring expenditure, managing compliance requirements and contributing to the development of future maintenance programmes.

The opportunity offers:

  • £55K + £3.5K car
  • 13% pension flat + option to match 3-8% on top of that.
  • 35 hour working week
  • TOIL scheme
  • 25 days + BH + 3 extra Church hols
  • Fully remote but travel paid to sites.

About You and Experience

We are looking for a technically capable and organised property professional with experience in residential maintenance, refurbishment or building surveying. You will be confident managing contractors and projects while balancing technical requirements with a customer-focused approach.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Strong technical knowledge of residential maintenance, construction works and property asset management.
  • Experience of specifying works, preparing schedules of work, inspecting completed projects and ensuring defects are resolved.
  • An understanding of construction contracts, health and safety, building compliance and relevant housing regulations.
  • Experience of managing budgets, monitoring project expenditure and delivering works within agreed timescales and financial constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with residents, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
  • A construction-related qualification, such as an HND or degree, alongside relevant practical experience.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regularly across the region and wider portfolio.

A professional qualification such as MRICS, CIOB or an equivalent is desirable, as is experience working within retirement housing, managing mechanical and electrical works, or applying CDM regulations.

If you are looking for a varied surveying role where you can take ownership of planned maintenance projects and make a tangible difference to the quality of people's homes, we would love to hear from you.
