  • Deliver practical life skills training, including budgeting, money management, tenancy skills, and confidence building.
  • Support residents to become tenancy ready and successfully move on to independent accommodation.
  • Facilitate and encourage participation in activities, workshops, and group sessions that promote personal and social development.
  • Safeguard and protect young people from harm, abuse, or exploitation.
  • Support new referrals, assessments, allocations, and inductions into the service.
  • Promote resident involvement in decision-making and service development.
  • Explain occupancy agreements and support residents to understand their responsibilities.
  • Manage issues relating to tenancy compliance, house rules, warnings, and other housing-related procedures where required.
  • Support individuals with welfare benefits, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Monitor rent and service charge payments and maintain accurate records.
  • Carry out health and safety checks, property inspections, and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Undertake light domestic duties where required, including preparing rooms for new occupants and maintaining communal areas.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote good relationships within the community.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure professional boundaries are upheld at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by care leavers and looked-after children.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
  • Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

Desirable Requirements

  • Understanding of Ofsted standards and regulations.
  • Experience within supported housing, homelessness, or housing management services.
  • Knowledge of tenancy management, property inspections, health and safety, and maintenance processes.
  • Further training or qualifications relevant to housing support, youth work, mental health, or social care.
