The Opportunity

A Bath-based organisation is seeking an Interim Assistant Management Accountant to provide support during a period of change and increased reporting requirements. Working closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Manager, you will take ownership of key month-end activities and support the wider finance function.

This position is ideal for a part-qualified accountant who can quickly add value and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with monthly management accounts production.
• Posting journals including accruals and prepayments.
• Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting exercises.
• Supporting variance analysis and management reporting.
• Producing financial analysis to support operational decision-making.
• Monitoring overhead expenditure and investigating anomalies.
• Supporting year-end and audit processes.
• Assisting with cashflow reporting.
• Supporting process improvement projects and finance transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent experience.
• Previous Assistant Management Accountant or Management Accounts experience.
• Strong month-end accounting knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Experience working within fast-paced commercial environments.

Desirable

• Previous interim or contract experience.
• Exposure to finance system implementations or process improvement projects.
• Experience working across multiple entities or cost centres.
