Part-Time Legal Cashier / Legal Secretary

Location: Tunbridge Wells Working pattern: 2-3 days per week, with flexibility to suit the right candidate.

We are delighted to be working with a lovely boutique law firm in Tunbridge Wells who are looking to welcome a Part-Time Legal Cashier / Legal Secretary to their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys the financial side of legal administration but is equally happy to roll up their sleeves and support colleagues with a variety of secretarial and administrative duties when needed.

Offering a flexible working pattern of two to three days per week, this position would suit someone looking to achieve a better work-life balance while remaining engaged in a varied and rewarding role within a professional, supportive environment.

The Role

This is a varied position combining legal cashiering responsibilities with general legal secretarial and administrative support. The successful candidate will play an important part in the smooth day-to-day running of the firm, helping to ensure that financial processes are handled accurately and efficiently while providing additional support across the office as required.

Key responsibilities may include:

• Processing client and office account transactions in accordance with the firm's procedures and relevant Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules.
• Assisting with client account reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Processing incoming and outgoing payments, including receipts, transfers and supplier invoices.
• Monitoring client account balances and ensuring financial records are kept up to date.
• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and supporting the firm's wider accounting processes.
• Providing general legal secretarial support to fee earners and colleagues.
• Preparing, formatting and amending legal documents, letters and correspondence.
• Managing incoming telephone calls, emails and other communications in a professional and helpful manner.
• Maintaining accurate filing systems, updating client records and ensuring documentation is organised appropriately.
• Assisting with diary management, appointment scheduling and general office administration.
• Providing ad hoc support to the wider team, demonstrating a flexible and proactive approach to the needs of the business.

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a legal cashiering role and a good understanding of the financial processes involved in working within a law firm. You will be organised, methodical and comfortable handling financial information with accuracy and discretion.

Just as importantly, you will be someone who enjoys variety and is happy to get involved in different aspects of office life. A positive, flexible and team-focused approach will be essential, along with the confidence to prioritise tasks and support colleagues where needed.
