The Opportunity

Our client in the construction industry are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join their busy finance team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced credit professional who enjoys building strong customer relationships, reducing aged debt, and supporting cash flow within a fast-paced organisation. This role can pay from £18-£22 per hour, and is on an ongoing basis in Huntingdon.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively manage a portfolio of customer accounts.
• Chase outstanding invoices via phone, email, and written communication.
• Reduce aged debt and maintain debtor days within agreed targets.
• Resolve invoice queries and payment disputes efficiently.
• Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts.
• Produce aged debt reports and provide updates to management.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Support month-end activities and cash flow forecasting.
• Ensure all credit control activities are completed in line with company policies.

About You

• Previous experience in a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable role.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Confident dealing with customers over the phone and by email.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads.
• Good attention to detail and strong numerical ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
